Matt and Erin finally tie the knot!

Oct. 17, 2009 was a big day in the Wayne family- Matt and Erin were married in Red Wing, with many family and friends celebrating the start of their married life together.

We were so thankful that the weather cooperated, and were able to take many gorgeous photos outside at Falconer Vineyards (thanks to Ann and John!!) and down by the river, near the St. James and in a few parks in Red Wing.
Coincdentally, only a few minutes before the entire wedding party arrived by bus- a successful proposal occurred during a picnic lunch at the vineyard! Yay!

Chris and I were both in the wedding party, happy to stand up for these two wonderful people and wish them the very best as husband and wife.

Congrats to the newest Mr. and Mrs. Wayne! It is no longer us!!

And, thanks to Mom, Dad and Kathleen for coming down to celebrate with us.

Good times with friends

It has been a very busy summer and we have been fortunate to be able to spend some time with our friends and family- hosted a BBQ, boating on the river, saying good-bye to friends moving away, and of course going to lots of Twins games.

Oops- pictures to follow.

Finished with Grad School and New Job!

Hello to anyone who is still occasionally reading my sporadic blog posts.
I recently finished my final paper and presentation for my Master's program in Library Science. Next, I will officially graduate on Dec. 18th in front of all my adoring fans (Chris, Mom, Dad, Kathleen- that's you).
In a wonderful coincidence I will graduate and start a new job all int the same week! On Dec. 15th I begin my new job as an Assistant Circulation Services Suprevisor for the new Robert Trail Library in Rosemount MN which officially opens Feb. 9th. This position is part of the Dakota Co. Library System.
So many changes!
Can't wait to see what the new year brings.

A quarter of a century...

I celebrated my 25th birthday on Oct. 4th. Probably the most shocking thing that happened was hearing about the 1/4 life crisis that some of my friends have gone through as they also are turning 25. I guess this simply means that I have a lot to be thankful for, mostly my stable (aka boring?) life! I have a job, a house, a husband, a cute puppy and wonderful extended family and of course friends.
My thanks to my family, friends and wonderful hubby Chris for always taking the time to make me feel loved and special!
Here's to another year!

It's that time...

When all of your friends and cousins are tying the knot! We've been the privileged guests at weddings for three of our cousins this summer. We started off in May with Chris' cousin Lindsey marrying Brian in Rochester. In July we took a little road trip up to Pequot Lakes for Chris' cousin Molly's wedding to Mark. And just this past weekend we celebrated my cousin Allison's wedding to Austin at the Falconer Family Vineyard in Red Wing!
It was so fun to see how each couple chose to celebrate their big day, all turned out absolutely gorgeous!
Congrats to all our cousins and new cousins-in-law!

Back to School(s)

The summer has flown by, and now I am returning to work at one school- St. Olaf- and will soon return to school (by going to class) for my final grad school class. It meets on Sunday afternoons at St. Kate's so don't expect me to be much fun on the weekends anytime soon. Haha, there is always Friday night!
Summer wrap-up: we went to KC with our friends Dave and Melissa to watch two Twins games, and while there we ate BBQ food and toured the Negro League Baseball Museum all within two days! It was a lot of driving- leaving at 6:30 am Sat. and returning at midnight Sunday!

Stuff to look forward to: Allison's wedding (my cousin) and the upcoming Wayne family cruise to the Caribbean over Thanksgiving.

Maybe this blog will be a little more interesting as my year becomes a little more hectic! Haha.

Done with summer school!

Finally done with summer session classes! Yea! I successfully completed 3 classes over the course of 7 weeks. Wow- i am happy to finally be home rather than going to class every night during the week and on Saturday mornings. It was getting to the point where I just wanted to be home and cook dinner! Now I can finally do that- in the last week I have made chili, grilled several times and next get to make some desserts!
In other news, Chris has started umping slow pitch softball games three days a week. (So we still aren't home at the same time very much!) And, we've re-joined a gym and are starting to get back into shape again. It feels good though, plus we get to take our puppy on nice long walks around our neighborhood and the park next to our house.
Oh the joys of summer!
